2.0 What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small piece of data that a website asks your browser to store as text strings on your computer’s hard disk.

3.0 What types of cookies do we distinguish?

Depending on their origin, cookies can be either first-party cookies, which are placed and managed by us, or third-party cookies, which are placed and managed by a third party. We use only first-party cookies on our website.

All cookies are set with expiry dates which determine how long they reside on your browser. Depending on their lifespan, cookies can be of two types:

  • Session cookies are stored in your browser during the session and are deleted when you close the browser, log out or when the session expires.
  • Persistent cookies are stored longer than the session and are not deleted until they have reached their expiry date, a new version of the cookie is placed, or the cookie is deleted manually.

Depending on their purpose, we use strictly necessary cookies, which are essential to use our website. We also use functional cookies to collect information about your preferences to improve the functioning of the website.

4.0 Which cookies does this website use?

This website uses four first-party cookies, namely SAML_SessionId, .NIDMSIdP, Cookienotice_sp, ASP.NET_SessionId:

  • SAML_SessionId (SAML-specific HTTP cookie which keeps the key to the cache for individual session data. This cookie expires and is deleted as soon as you close your browser, log out or when the session expires)
  • .NIDMSIdP (Authenticates the user once logged in. This cookie expires and is deleted as soon as you close your browser, log out or when the session expires)
  • Cookienotice_sp (This is used to remember not to show you the cookies notification again. This cookie expires after 365 days)
  • ASP.NET_SessionId (Temporary cookie which our web server uses to preserve your session state across page requests. This cookie expires and is deleted as soon as you close your browser, log out or when the session expires).

5.0 With whom do we share your data?

In principle, we do not share your data with anyone other than the persons who work for us, as well as with the suppliers who help us process your data. Anyone who has access to your data will always be bound by strict legal or contractual obligations to keep your data safe and confidential.

We do not transfer your data outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

6.0 How can I delete or disable cookies?

You can adjust your browser settings to prevent cookies from being placed on your device. If your browser is NOT configured, by default, to block all or certain cookies, you may manually configure your browser to either reject all cookies or control which cookies are set on your device through this website. You may also install any trustworthy third-party browser extension or add-in of your choice that can block and provide information on such cookies. You may find all the necessary information on how to make the necessary configuration settings by visiting the following site: http://www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies/

You’re always free to manually block, delete or disable these cookies if your browser or device permits. However, if you decline cookies, you will not be able to use all of the functionalities of the website.

7.0 Changes to the cookie policy

We can change this cookie policy on our initiative at any time. If material changes to this cookie policy may affect the processing of your data or your previously given consent, the Agency will ask for your consent again when you visit the website, and the Agency will communicate these changes to you.
